We love meeting other doll collectors and aficionados at traveling doll shows, and luckily, there are a few shows coming up that we’ll be attending. We’ll be showing off some of our favorite vintage and collectible dolls – some of which will be for sale, too. Take a look at our upcoming calendar and stop by if you’re in the area.
Knight Southeastern Doll Show
For anyone in the Nashville area, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 2 we’ll be at the 11th annual Knight Southeastern Doll Show. Come check out vendors at The Inn at Opryland in the McGavock Ballroom, located at 2401 Music Valley Drive. This is the final year that the Knight Southeastern Doll Show will be hosting vendors, so don’t miss this show! Admission is $6, but children 12 and younger as well as and Girl and Boy Scouts are free. Check out their website for a coupon!
Grant A Wish Fund Fashion Doll Show and Sale
If you’re in the Livonia, Michigan, area, join us from April 15-17 for the Grant A Wish Fund Fashion Doll Show and Sale, scheduled to be held at the Livonia Marriott Hotel. Admission for this event is also just $5, and the show will be open to the public Sunday, April 17. Plus, if your little girl comes by wearing a Girl Scout uniform, she’ll get free admission! This show will raise money for local Michigan charities, and there will be dolls for sale, as well as auctions and giveaways. All attendees can also meet with various doll dealers and collectors and peruse the many different dolls from throughout the ages. Call 586-996-4429 with any questions.
Chicago Toy Show
This spring, we’ll also be a show right here in our own backyard. The Chicago Toy Show, hosted annually in St. Charles, will be held April 24 at the Kane County Fairgrounds, located at 525 S. Randall Road. Don’t worry if you can’t make it to this show, since there’s another show planned in the fall – Oct. 23 at the same location. Visitors will meet tons of dealers and learn a lot about the history of toys and dolls. Admission is $10 for adults, and children younger than 12 are free. Call 847-800-3009 for more information.
Naperville Doll & Teddy Bear Show
Another show right up our alley and close to home, the Naperville Doll & Teddy Bear Show is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 12 at the Marriott Hotel in Naperville on North Naper Boulevard. Featuring more than 50 dealers and collectors of antique, vintage and collectible dolls and teddies, the show offers door prizes and free appraisals – plus a full day of beautiful classic and contemporary dolls and bears! Admission is $5, and children 12 and younger are free. Check out the show’s website to learn more.
National Doll Festival
Doll collectors in the Washington, D.C., area should check out the National Doll Festival at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, scheduled this summer from July 26–29. This festival features millions of dollars’ worth of dolls to ogle and purchase! Rare antique and quality vintage dealers, as well as contemporary artists and modern collectors will be in attendance. You’ll be able to have your doll appraised for free, and there will be plenty of booths for you to take your doll for restoration and repair, as well. Admission for this festival is $35 for the duration of the festival, or $25 for a day pass. For more details, call 831-438-5349.
National Barbie Convention
This summer, the National Barbie Convention is taking place from July 27-30, at the Hyatt Regency at the Jacksonville Riverfront in sunny Florida. We will be represented by Hillary James Shilkitus and Lori Nicholsen in the sales room! They will be showing our vintage Barbie’s and clothing at the convention, as well as Kaiser Doll Stands. You definitely don’t want to miss this special collection! There will be activities, raffles, a luncheon, auctions (silent and live), a fashion show, souvenirs, workshops and more. Plus, Jacksonville is a great getaway spot for a long weekend! Registration ranges from $385 to $450, so check out their website for more information.
